IRISH BOUZOUKI

PRESENTATION

Irish bouzouki, mandoloncello, octave mandolin, short-neck bouzouki, Pandora, cittern, all different names for instruments from the same family,
with various shapes, scales, and numbers of string pairs.
I offer two body sizes, “Standard”, 35.5 cm in body width and “Large”, 38 cm in body width, in two different models: “Banshee” model and “Tara” model.
Both models have equivalent acoustic qualities and woods. They differ in decoration (inlays, wood, finish), with the “Tara” being more understated (less decorated) than the “Banshee”.
I craft these instruments with three scale lengths to choose from: 63 cm, 59 cm, and 54.5 cm.
The scale length is closely linked to the tuning chosen, which will determine the string gauge to use.
The various possible tunings are: GDAE, GDAD, ADAD, GDGD, GCGC… and others.
Depending on your preferences, physique, and playing style, you can select the model that best suits you from this range.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE TWO MODELS:
